Ultralow Temperature Anelasticity of Aluminum-Magnesium Alloys

Results of internal friction measurements on the commercial aluminum-magnesium alloys 5052,5086 and 5486 are reported here over the temperature range 50 mK to 300 K, and compared with published data on alloy 5056. Effects of heat treatment and explosive bonds on the internal friction are evaluated. The quality factor of proposed multi-layer aluminum-alloy spherical resonant-mass detectors of gr...

Preparation of Superparamagnetic of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 at Room Temperature by Co-precipitation Method and Investigation of Its Physical Properties

Magnetic nanoparticles of cobalt-zinc ferrite (Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4) have been synthesized in a homogeneous aqueous solution at room temperature by co-precipitation method without any template and subsequent heat treatment. Synthesis of material is confirmed using XRD from the report of single phase polycrystalline ferrite material and also determined lattice constant. Atomic absorption spectrophoto...

Organic alloys of room temperature liquids thiophenol and selenophenol.

The first examples of organic alloys of two room temperature liquids, obtained and characterized via in situ cryo-crystallography, are presented. Thiophenol and selenophenol, which exhibit isostructurality and similar modes of S⋯S and Se⋯Se homo-chalcogen interactions along with weak and rare S–H⋯S and Se–H⋯Se hydrogen bonds, are shown to form solid solutions exhibiting Veggard's law-like trends.
